VR TERROIR, explores how we represent users in virtual environments with contextual, non-generic avatars rooted in culture and space. The concept comes from my fascination with the richness of local identities and my dissatisfaction with the sterile, placeless representations dominating digital spaces. Inspired by the idea of terroir in wine, I envisioned avatars shaped by the heritage, materials, and biodiversity of specific physical and virtual environments.
